About Trusty Pet Reviews

Last updated: August 2026

Trusty Pet Reviews exists to help pet owners make informed decisions about the products they buy for their animals. Pet products are an area where marketing claims are loud, specifications are buried, and much of what is published online invents hands-on verdicts it cannot back. We think owners deserve better than that.

The site is being rebuilt · honestly

Trusty Pet Reviews changed hands in 2026 and every page on this site is being rewritten from scratch. We want to be direct about what that means for you as a reader:

How a review gets written

  1. Specifications first. We pull dimensions, materials, certifications, guaranteed analyses (for food) and warranty terms from the manufacturer's own documentation first; where a manufacturer publishes no spec, we cite the retailer listing we actually read, with the date.
  2. Claims vs. certifications. A marketing claim ("orthopedic", "chew-proof") is treated differently from a verifiable certification (CertiPUR-US, AAFCO adequacy statements). We label which is which.
  3. Owner consensus. We read and count recent verified buyer reviews on a named retailer (for example, the 20 most recent, with the read date stated on the page) and report the patterns, positive and negative, as owner experiences, not ours.
  4. Price checking. Prices in our reviews are the typical ranges at the time of the last update. They drift; always check the retailer before deciding.

How we make money

This site may earn affiliate commissions when you buy through links on our pages. That never changes what a review says: pages are researched and written before any affiliate consideration. When we link to a product we would not recommend, the link is there only so you can see exactly what we are warning you about. If a page contains affiliate links, it is disclosed on that page.
