A bolstered memory foam bed built around one solid slab of foam rather than the shredded fill or thin foam caps of budget beds, with a waterproof inner liner, polyfill bolsters on three sides, a non-skid base and a removable cover with YKK zippers (specs per the Chewy listing and Petmate's partner listing, both read August 10, 2026). The solid slab is the thing you are paying for.
The spec that decides whether this bed is supportive for your dog is foam thickness, and it varies by size far more than the marketing suggests. The manufacturer publishes no size chart on its live page, which shows only the XXL variant; the table below is read from the Chewy listing.

Fit honestly: the bolsters shrink the flat area, so measure your dog stretched out and compare against the sleeping-surface columns, not the outer dimensions. If the measurement lands near the top of a size's sleeping surface, the next size up is the safer buy. Note the Small is a different product in practice: 2 inches of foam is half the Large's slab.
The cover is a cotton-polyester twill described as water- and
tear-resistant, over a waterproof liner encasing the foam; the bolsters are

Choose the BARK bed over this one only on price: its whole stack is 3 inches against the Ultimate's 4-inch slab in Large/XL.
